In every corner of the Canary Islands we can find incredible beaches of all kinds. White sand beaches, black sand, thick sand, fine sand, quiet sand. Or beaches that can only be reached by boat or a hike, and more touristic beaches. For us, the five best beaches in Tenerife aside the quiet and turistic ones are:
La Tejita beach, in Tenerife, El Medano
This beach is located in El Médano, in the south of the island. Specifically in the Montaña Roja Nature Reserve, an old volcanic crater. So if you want a white sand beach and just surround yourself with nature, this is your beach! Besides, nudism is allowed, although they are usually placed in the area closest to the mountain. We warn you that, despite the wind in the area, there is usually a pleasant temperature all year round. Perfect place to contemplate Montaña Roja and even climb to the top.

La Jaquita one of the best beaches in Tenerife are in Alcala
It is characterised by its coastal diversity and wide promenade. In this renovated area we can choose black sand beaches with more or less waves. We also find different natural swimming pools that make you fall in love. It is also comfortable with all types of access, changing rooms and toilets, without neglecting its nature.
Los Roques, Almáciga and Benijo in the northeast of Tenerife
Here there are some of the best beaches in Tenerife, located one after the other.
Los Roques: It is in the first line of Taganana village, in front of Casa Africa restaurant. This means that, despite the swell, beginners can take advantage of it to catch waves. In addition, swimmers can also enjoy a day at the beach. Sometimes in the winter the sea is strong and it is not advisable to swim in the sea. You can see the forecast or ask the lifeguard.

Almaciga: This is the second beach from the village. It is characterized by being open to the sea and having strong currents that drag the sea inwards. So you have to be careful. It is very beautiful. It is highly recommended to go with a book to listen to the sound of the sea and disconnect for a few hours from the bustle of the big city. Besides, not all the companies have coverage.

Benijo: A place to see one of the best sunsets on the island. The different rocks that we find on the beach form a perfect showcase. From brides to take their wedding photos, to influencers from all over the world, to show the world that we are very lucky to be living in Tenerife.

Las Arenas beach, in Buenavista del Norte
Las Arenas beach in Buenavista. It is a quite peculiar beach. In winter it does not have sand because the tide takes it away and returns it in spring. Along its promenade you will be able to discover different coves and beaches of callados. Besides enjoying a spectacular sunset next to the Teno Massif.
El Bollullo, on the coast of La Orotava
It is in the area known as El Rincón, in La Orotava. The wild environment and its beachfront chiringuito is impressive. It is more advisable to go at low tide to take advantage of every corner. The volcanic sand beach and its incredible cliffs make you disconnect from civilization. Enjoy the sound of the sea and relax.
These are just some of the most beloved beaches in Tenerife. All along its coast we will discover that each one has something special that will make us stay longer there.
