Tenerife offers amazing choices for plans, places to go and enjoy. Along with its history, nature and gastronomy. Below we show you “a perfect day in Tenerife” to do in the north of the island.
Breakfast
We start in San Cristobal de La Laguna at 9 am, in the north of Tenerife. Along the streets of the historic center, La Laguna offers dozens of bars (ex: makika) where you can have a typical breakfast, ask for a pulga de queso blanco y tomate y un cafe con leche (small sandwich with fresh cheese and tomato, and for drink a coffe with milk) . Once we have charged energy we take a walk through the city to discover a little piece of its history.
Where do we start in Tenerife?
At 10:30 we take the car and go to the Anaga Visitor Center, located in Cruz del Marcem. Here, you can find all the information needed of the parks and receive a map, you will also find information about the geological formation of Tenerife.. This time we will make a circular route called the five senses, where you cam contemplate different places of Anaga. This suitable for the whole family and lasts about two hours with stops to take a picture or listen to nature.
Lunch
To regain strength we propose two plans according to the appetite:
Guachinche
On the one hand we can go to a guachinche. This is a typical place of Tenerife, where we find homemade canarian food, it is called “La Cueva“, in Chinamada. This is located 20 minutes away by car. We recommend to order the escaldón and the polvito, a real wonder! From there we continue our route, 15 minutes walk from where we parked the car we found a viewpoint where you can enjoy views that never cease to surprise tourists and Tenerife, La Punta de Hidalgo and part of Anaga.
Cofradía de Pescadores
On the other hand, go down to La Punta de Hidalgo and go to La Cofradía de Pescadores to enjoy the fish next to the sea.
Afternoon swim
We continue to swim in the wonderful natural pools of La Punta de Hidalgo. Those pools are formed by sea water, the water is renewed two times a day with the high tide.
A drink with the sunset
Finally we recommend you to go to El Sauzal. Here we can enjoy a good glass of wine or a drink while enjoying the sunset with spectacular views. You have different options like La casa del Vino, la Baranda or las Terrazas del Sauzal. Be aware that on Fridays and Saturdays of summer it can be crowded.
We recommend to take a jacket or a jumper, because the temperature gest lower and the end of the day. This plan is suitable for all families, couples or even to do it alone, we hope you liked it!
