Why visit Adeje?
When we are in the south of Tenerife we only see resorts and tourist sites but Adeje is much more than that. If we look to the mountains we find the oldest massif on the island of Tenerife and that is where we are going to go. We will see how the Canary Islands were created by volcanic activity millions of years ago to what we know today.
Which part of the island will we visit?
We take the car and drive up to Tijoco Alto, the upper part of Adeje. There we find a ravine called Barranco de Ye, which is little known even by the locals. We continue walking to Taucho and tell the history of the village. We pass by the old washing places, so that we can add a picture to the story. We continue to a wine cellar and a spectacular viewpoint. On the way back we have prepared a culinary surprise suitable for all tastes and a wine tasting. Among them we will taste the gofio or the black pig.
Characteristics of Adeje
- Adeje means mountain massif.
- More than 45% of the surface area is made up of protected natural areas.
- Every 20th of January the fiesta in honour of San Sebastián is celebrated, where the main protagonists are the horses.

What to do before the activity?
We recommend not getting up too late and going to a beach near the hotel such as Playa del Duque or Playa Fañabé. There you will also find different places to have breakfast or a drink before the excursion such as Le Club. If you are looking for something less crowded, go to Armeñime and discover its charm. A nice swim in the sea will leave you ready for the activity we have prepared for you!
